The Perkins V State Plan was signed into law on July 31, 2018. This bipartisan measure reauthorized the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 and continued Congress’ commitment in providing nearly $1.3 billion annually for career and technical education (CTE) programs for our nation’s youth and adults.
Why is this important? California receives approximately $127 million annually to support CTE programs and pathways. Strengthening of funds serve to improve secondary and postsecondary CTE to better engage students in learning, to meet critical workforce demands, and to help students become socially mobile.
Your valuable feedback will help finalize the California Perkins V State Plan, as well as inform the future development of the Comprehensive California State Plan for CTE.
